An Incredibly LATE Look Back At 2019
Hi remember me?
It's only been a year and 6 months since this face was last seen on here.
Sorry for such the long absence. After all this time, some of you probably thought I was never coming back, but here I am. I'm pretty sure you would all like to know why I took a year long hiatus, don't you?
Of course you do, however this video is not it. I will explain everything in my next video, truly I will; scouts honor.
Here it is almost 10 months into the year and the last thing you'd want to watch is a look back at 2019, but since this 2020 and this year has been quite the experience so far; who wouldn't want to have a look back and reminisce on the simpler care free days of last year.

      There was no restaurant down stairs in that area of the mall. Next to KayBee was Foot Locker and next Kitts was Walden books. The only restaurants on the lower level of the mall were the Mexican next to hair salon and Target that caused the mall to go downhill due to the gangs associated with it. The Italian over by Sam Goody, and Ruby Tuesdays which was near the food court. Over By Sam Goody there was a small food court that had Burger King, Chinese, and something else, that food court was were that Italian restaurant was. Uncle to two teenagers and a three year old. Will show the youngest one this movie. That’s one of the joys for me. Since it’s me and my brother I either get to be the uncle who buys all the appropriate stuff or the one who buys everything you shouldn’t buy him (let’s be honest there’s one of each type of uncle in a family). So I buy all the stuff I shouldn’t. Plus I found a loophole. If my sister in law says no all I have to say is “sorry it’s a gift you can’t say no”. Wins every time

      Several others have asked about the table and chairs. From what I've been told by others and researched myself, ocean liners like the Poseidon had their dining tables and chairs usually anchored to the floor so that when the weather was rough they wouldn't slide around.

      @@Perich29 Holland America is a cruise ship, whereas the Poseidon is an ocean liner. The difference between the two ships is that cruise ships are for entertainment and relaxing while ocean liners are older and there main purpose was that they were built for speed. Holland America is a modern ship and is designed to make sure tables and chairs wont usually slide around or fall over during rough weather.

    Some comments state this scene as a reason to not go on a cruise ship. 🤔 Can you imagine if this was one of those cheapo cruises capsizing? Getting swatted with scads of flying Payless flats? The low rent band hitting the ceiling, which is now the floor? And they still sound bad! Getting bopped by hurled baggies of bad weed? Boxes of frozen buffet entrees? Fat people hurling about the capsizing room, trying to catch them? Cristos! What a nightmare!

    • @SignalsOverTheAir
      @SignalsOverTheAir 10 місяців тому

      A modern cruise ship today is very unlikely to capsize and even if it did, it would only be briefly and the ship would turn right side up again. The damage done by capsizing today would still be about the same as it is in the movie, maybe just a bit worse though.

    • @SignalsOverTheAir
      @SignalsOverTheAir Рік тому

      @@chazarcola7639 The Special Achievement Award was created just for The Poseidon Adventure because of it's visual effects. This award isn't given out every year and it's not just for effects, it's been awarded for sound effects editing, animation director for Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1998), Toy Story (1995) for being the first computer animated film, and in 2017 for VR (Virtual Reality) for a short called Flesh And Sand, it was the first special achievement award given out since Toy Story. Gene was running the whole show, as he came up with the plan of escaping, Ernest was a reluctant partner to Gene which would make him a supporting character. Red Buttons and Jack Albertson are good the film, but not worthy of being nominated for Best Supporting Actor in my opinion. Jack should have been nominated for his role as Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka. Stella's Linda is certainly memorable, but not enough for a Best Actress nomination though, yelling at Ernest for the entire film isn't going to get you the nomination where as Shelley's underwater rescue is how she earned it instead.

      Gene Hackman and Stella Stevens didn't roll over the table, their stunt stand-in's did, as you don't see her face as they roll over and the guy's face you briefly do see isn't Gene's. Rolling over a table seems pretty easy to do, but I guess even back then something the actors could easily do themselves was better suited for the stand-in's to do instead just incase something went wrong they got injured.
